Business Tips From Biggie Smalls

Biggie Smalls is one of the best lyricists of all-time. But if you look at him strictly as a motivational speaker some of his wisdom could boost any success minded professional to higher heights.

Biggie Smalls Business Tip Number Uno: Never let no one know how much dough you hold… cause you know. The cheddar breed jealousy!

You don’t want people knowing how much money you have because the second they realize the amount you make four things can happen: they get envious, they get greedy, they become insecure or they remain the same.

Money only magnifies people, and you already know your innermost thoughts and desires when it comes to money, but what about your friends. Are you ready to see them magnified? Not to mention the sales people, leeches, and tons of hidden cousins, uncles, best friends, etc. that appear. Save yourself the drama and keep it under wraps and quietly do what you’re doing.

Need more convincing, ask any famous people who’s real or fake in their lives. There is no need to brag or advertise your number. The people that really matter don’t care how much you have in the bank, they are more concerned that you get home safely at night.

Biggie Smalls Business Tip Number 2: Never let ‘em know your next move. Don’t you know Bad Boys move in silence!

While chasing your goals, as hard as this may be, don’t let know people everything you’re doing. People sometimes get jealous and envious of the fact that you’re taking action and making moves while they are just sitting talking about what they are going to do . These “hate to take action” people may influence other  people to become dream blockers.

Dream Blockers put roadblocks up to slow your progress.  That same energy they could use in pursuit of their dream they use to block yours. They put up roadblocks, they close door and find ways to make it difficult for you to make things happen.

Rule of thumb… make your major moves and tell about them after its done! Then use the hate as free advertising.

Biggie Smalls Business Tip Number 3: Never trust no-bo-dy. Your moms’ll set that – up, properly gassed up!

Trust is a little more complicated. You have to trust some people during your business journey. However, 100 percent trust in someone can serve futile.

Even someone with the best of intentions can have a bad day and feel slighted and then turn against you. If that person decides to turn around and share your secrets with your competition you could be left skinned dried.

Even if that person apologizes after realizing they made a mistake, the damage would have already been done. The best way to avoid this is to be limited with the amount of information you share with any one person. And if you have to share… make sure you have confidentiality and non compete agreements in place. Always protect yourself legally.

A mentor of mine said, “make sure your accountant has an accountant, and they should never know each other.

I wonder how many business professionals have Biggie on their morning drive playlist? If you do post a comment below!
